 1. To temporarily rent a digital license until the company decides to revoke
    it
    暫時租用一個數位授權，直到公司決定收回為止

 2. To exchange money for the privilege of being controlled by a software
    company
    通過付錢，來換取被軟體公司控制 [2]的特權

◆ perpetual (adj.) 永久​

 1. Usable as long as the company exists and is in a good mood
    只要公司還存在並且心情良好就可以使用

 2. A time period slightly longer than "temporary"
    比「臨時」稍微長一點的時間區間

    "I just bought a perpetual license for Finale for $600. Hope it lasts until
    next year!"

    「我剛剛花了 600 美金買了 Finale 的永久授權 [3]，希望它到明年還能用！」
